The Journey
"I come from a farming family, where my grandparents lived a life deeply rooted in sustainability. Theirs was a way of living that was carbon-neutral and gentle on the earth long before those words became fashionable. We ate from banana leaves, brushed with neem sticks and charcoal, wrapped earthen pots in damp burlap to keep our water cool, and cooked fresh every day, with no need for a refrigerator. Those memories shaped my understanding of what a sustainable life can be.
After graduating in engineering, I joined the automotive industry, where I watched large-scale sustainability initiatives work to reduce carbon footprints. It reinforced the quiet brilliance of my grandparents' way of life and inspired me to bring their wisdom into modern city living. That is why I founded ENHYPHEN — to draw a hyphen between contemporary life and conscious living.
Fashion has always been my passion, and I saw in it a chance to make meaningful change. With the support of family and friends, I began by sourcing surplus fabric from manufacturers — overproduced runs and cancelled orders that would otherwise go to waste — and from there set about designing apparel that holds sustainability in every detail.
Today, ENHYPHEN The Label is a Bangalore-based premium women's western-wear house, creating modern, handcrafted pieces in linen, cotton, and other considered fabrics for the contemporary Indian woman who wants fewer, better things. Quiet luxury, made to last beyond seasons."
